Great idea! I saw this done at a lovely garden I visited last summer. But I did wonder just how long it took to collect so many bottles. Some may take longer than others!
I seem to remember a bottle wall at the Gibberd Garden and being most impressed by Sir Frederick’s apparent dedication to drinking and re-using. I think he used a washing machine somewhere too – in a stream or something.
Could the bottle edging be improved with the occasional beer bottle slug trap?
Love the little recyclers. Chickens are the best!
They are great recyclers aren’t they – all those weeds and pests they eat and turn into fertiliser for the garden.

Those are very handsome chickens.
