Dear Catherine, What an absolutely enchanting gate although I am not convinced that I should always wish to encounter a spider each time I passed through.
Here in Budapest where I live for much of my time the ironwork, largely C19, is remarkable.
I love that gate. I went online and checked out Hoveton Hall to see what the spider garden looked like, and the inlaid stone “spider” surrounded by box is just as fascinating as this beautiful iron gate spider!
